What is my earliest memory of security and comfort?
In this video installation I want to explore the origin of safety, which for me is my mother's womb. The womb is a stable and predictable environment. It eliminates the need for the foetus to adapt to changing conditions, allowing it to focus on growth and development. Also, the womb shields the foetus from the overwhelming sensory input of the external world. This limited sensory input can create a peaceful and calming environment. I want viewers to experience the warmth and comfort that I think I felt while I was in my mother’s womb- the feeling that is lost. I want to share with viewers the longing for going back there and the sadness of losing that safety and being unable to find it somewhere else. I think that the feeling of safety that I have experienced in my mother's womb, I will never find again.
